CPR in a Salon

Compression only, no mouth-to-mouth; your client safety is your priority. When there is an emergency (cardiac arrest) in the salon or around you, you can do COMPRESSION ONLY CPR. LEARN THE 4 STETPS To ensure that oxygen is getting to your client in the salon, you need to do CPR, since the brain damage happens in 4-5 minutes and the 911 responses take 5-6 minutes. STEP ONE: step is TO SHAKE AND SHOUT: to determine if the patient is responsive: to make sure if there actually need CPR; just shake them at the shoulders and shout if he/she is OK. SECOND TWO; ask someone to call 911: make an eye contact to a person and tell them to call or call yourself on your cell phone, talk on the speaker and continue what you are doing. STEP THREE: do the compressions on the chest: kneel as close as possible next to the client, place the hands on the chest and do 100 compressions per minute speed to make the heart push the oxygen to the brain, continue to do that until help shows up. In two minutes, you will be very tired, so you need to ask someone else (if possible) to switch with you. STEP FOUR: stay with the patient; wait until the help arrives; do not abandon the patient. This is an important client protection video of how to save a life by doing CPR in the salon without doing mouth-to-mouth breathing: for cosmetologists, beauty school students, salon professionals, estheticians, skin care therapists, platform artists, and for general public.
